On the 30^th of January   NIE “Economical Lyceum” held the English Language Olympiad for the private schools of Astana.  47 students from most private schools of Astana (“Stolichniy”, “ICCE”, “Blue Sail”, “Nur Orda”, “Akbota-1”, and “Ortalik”) came to demonstrate their excellent knowledge of English.  The Olympiad started at 13.00 and finished at 18.00. It consisted of two tours: the first was a written test and the second- an oral communication. During the break the students had a chance to watch a film in English Language “Maleficent” while they were waiting for their results. By the end of the Olympiad each of them was awarded with the certificate for participation and the winners were presented with the diplomas and little gifts from our guests from “Macmillan”, “Study Inn” and “Inter Press” language centers.

“This Olympiad was better organized; it was planned and timed well”.

“The tasks of the first tour were not very difficult; however, some students said that they found them a bit complicated”.

“I liked to talk to new people”.

“I was happy to receive some presents and my diploma”.
